The Challenge

More than 700 million people around the world lack access to water, an essential resource for survival. Rising temperatures, drought, climate change, deforestation, mining and oil extraction, toxic pollution, and destructive dam projects all threaten the lives of communities worldwide by contaminating local water sources or threatening the actual existence of water, a vital resource. Women and children are the most vulnerable.

Our Strategy

Since 2007, thanks to the Aveda network and guests, over $14 million has been raised for grassroots groups worldwide working to protect clean water and the communities at risk.

For the 5th year in a row, every April, during Earth Month, Pure Concepts Hair & Boutique and its stylists will raise money for the Alliance for the Great Lakes. This money is indispensable in the Alliance’s work to protect the Great Lakes.

This year, with the help of our generous donors you will see listed below, Pure Concepts Hair & Boutique is running a silent auction with 100$ of the proceeds going to the Alliance for the Great Lakes.

Help Us Reach Our Goal

Bidding has already started and will go until 7 pm CST on May 26th. We will take bids on all items in the salon during regular business hours and also on Facebook (send us a message).  We will update at the end of every day what the highest bid is for that day on each item. The last two days of the auction will be in-salon bidding ONLY.  There will be NO bidding on Facebook those last two days. At the end of the auction, the highest listed bidder wins the item.

Artful Fabrications is a gathering place, maker space, market and gallery by and for fabric artists, textile artisans and friends also here in Viroqua.
